The field and the track

The area can really be described by one simple word

BIG!

Two 800 ft. X 40 ft. paved runways so you can fly just about anything you wish, as long as you stay below 10,000' AGL (above ground level). Over 4000 sq. ft. of shaded pit areas, electricity, running water, ample parking for cars and RV's, RV hookups, highly visible centrally located frequency board, elevated control tower, radio impound area, work benchs, static flight stands, C/L flying circle...and NO plane-swallowing trees in sight!

Pits and Tower

The pit is an asphalt paved area 200 ft X 20 ft with over 4000 sq ft of metal shelter as well as the control tower-observation deck.

Electric outlets are available.

Asphalt paved runway

Three 100 ft X 10 ft asphalt taxiways connect the pits to the two runways. The taxiways are located one at each end of the pits and one in the middle to provide east access for your flying enjoyment. A safety fence separates the flight boxes and the runways ! The two asphalt runways intersect each other in the middle at a 45 degree angle. This arrangement allows for takeoffs and landings in all kinds of wind conditions with minimal crosswind.

Helo Pad

Unlike other RC airfields, VMP has a good relationship between the airplane pilots and helicopter pilots...and in October 2002 a concrete helicoptor pad was added to the airfield facilities just off the eastern pits and the crosswind runway. This gives the helo pilots a place to take off, hover, and land...far enough away as not to tie up a runway, yet close enough to enter the pattern to fly with the "Planks" if desired. VMP currently has active helo pilots...with many more wanting to learn. Thanks to all who made this possible!

Enjoy a beautiful view of the Sacramento Mountains while you stay and have fun at the field.

This is high country - Bring more nitro!

Offroad Racetrack

We have a new rebuild offroad racetrack. You could find more pictures in the mediaarea.

There is not more to say as

come and have fun
